The next mayhem, IMO, will be on Certification Day - January 6, 2017.
After the Electoral Votes are counted in a Joint Session of Congress, the Chair of the Joint Session (the VPOTUS) will ask if there are any objections. Such objections will have to be in writing and signed by at least one Senator and one Representative.
The Senator and Representative signing the objection do not even have to be from the state in question.
Objections to Electoral Votes can either be against one Vote at a time, or for an entire state.
Objections are handled one at a time, and are addressed by an adjournment of the Joint Session with each Congressional body assembling for a two-hour session (max time allowed) to address the objection. Both the House and Senate must concur on sustaining an objection, otherwise the Electoral Vote(s) count. If an objection is sustained (this has never happened in the history of the United States, by the way), the Electoral Vote(s) get set aside (as in never counted).
Objections are supposed to be handled one at a time - so it could potentially be a big time suck, particularly with both Chambers (thank God!) in Republican hands. Otherwise, other than some last minute drama not amounting to anything reasonable (Dems and reasonable in the same sentence? - silly me!), that would be it.

Where, pray tell, is this allowed by the Constitution?
I’m sure this is federal law. However, federal law that is not pursuant to the Constitution is NOT the law of the land and is invalid (Art VI, Cl 2).
Wonder what is the historical genesis (genius?) of this law.
