I had a neighbor from India. He was a master gardener. His entire property was shrubs, small trees, vines, etc..... No grass whatsoever. Everything produced a fruit or edible thing. He kept a pygmy goat to keep everything trimmed up neatly at ground level to four feet up. The city fined him $110 per day until he got rid of the goat.

Virtually every year we have a doe give birth to a fawn in our field. When this happens we stop using our back driveway for several weeks until the fawn is strong enough to leave the property.

Twice we have had twin fawns. Cut little things.

Deer are notorious for killing trees by eating off the bark.

Somehow, I doubt the lack of more appealing food was going to be a problem for that animal.

I would have made sure it got the occasionally flea & tick scrub though.

Come to think of it, I know exactly why Cuomo got involved:

I think it was Leona Helmsley that left a billion+ to "animals". Cuomo's father, Saint Mario, along with his cronies, were the executors of the estate, and got judge to change the Helmsley's will enough to allow them to funnel the money into their own pockets.

Animal shelters in NYS were not amused.

If the LSM were to point out that the "Queen of Mean", even while dead, could have helped the black community in NYC enjoy nature, but the corrupt, white, anti-woman elite destroyed a means of private funding...

“The city fined him $110 per day until he got rid of the goat.”

Sounds like another neighbor had a grudge.
