If you mosey up to him and he pulls a knife on you even if you have your firearm drawn and get off rounds he is more than likely going to stick you. If they are within 20 ft. and have a knife unless you get a spine or head shot they will stick you. That is why you don’t mosey up to someone with their hand in their pocket who refusing to obey commands.
On the other hand if they were within taser range I would question why that wasn’t deployed. Total tragedy for all involved.
