Isn’t the electoral college a collective of representatives voting for the candidate that won the popular vote in their respective district? The president IS actually elected by popular vote.

The President is actually elected by the States and that was intended by the founders. The States are entitled to send their electors whom they have appointed/elected to vote the will of the state. The Presidency was always intended to be determined but the States that created the government in the first place.

In a mildly convoluted way of viewing the EC I was trying to eliminate the left’s argument that the candidate who won the popular vote should be president by pointing out this is exactly what occurs with the EC.

As you have correctly stated, the EC represents the states. I am attempting to illustrate, through the representative republic that we are, that at the state level where it actually counts Trump won the popular vote more times than Hillary.

Naturally, this reality doesn’t matter to sore losers like Hillary and the far too numerous, arguably treasonous, law breakers who have been controlling our nation for the past decade.
