Electors Call for Intelligence Briefing on Russian Hacking Allegations

Ten members of the Electoral College have signed a letter urging the Director of National Intelligence James Clapper to provide them with classified briefings on Russia’s hacking and cyber involvement in the U.S. elections.
Christine Pelosi, Democratic House Leader Nancy Pelosi’s daughter, who serves as an elector from California, spearheaded drafting the letter and referred to the request as a “day pass” so that electors could be fully read-in before they cast their votes next week.
Nine of the ten signatories come from states that Hillary Clinton won, though Pelosi said the news media should “stay tuned” for additional backers.
"We further emphasize Alexander Hamilton’s assertion in Federalist Paper #68 that a core purpose of the Electoral College was to prevent a 'desire in foreign powers to gain an improper ascendant in our councils.' The United States intelligence community has now concluded with 'high confidence' that a foreign power, namely Russia, acted covertly to interfere in the presidential campaign with the intent of promoting Donald Trump’s candidacy," the letter states.
"The Electors require to know from the intelligence community whether there are ongoing investigations into ties between Donald Trump, his campaign or associates, and Russian government interference in the election, the scope of those investigations, how far those investigations may have reached, and who was involved in those investigations," it reads.
Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta released a statement today saying that the letter "raises very grave issues" about the election.
Christine Pelosi told ABC News that the information would be helpful for members of Congress ahead of cabinet confirmation hearings.

So, do all the electors have classified clearances? If not, how would they be cleared to get such a briefing within a week?
The Electoral College does not meet all together... each elector travels to their state capital to meet with fellow state electors where they then vote. So, would there be 50 briefings, one in each capital?
Would there be a nation-wide con-call intelligence briefing that somehow was able to exclude non-electors?
Just playing out the scenario being proposed is ridiculous.
Electoral College never meets as a formal body.
Electors assemble in their state capitols and cast their votes. That’s it.
Not too much drama should be expected next Monday.

No. They need to be told they are not there to exercise judgement or be briefed. THey are there to vote the way the people in their states voted. If they can’t do that, the US Marshall over there has a spot reserved for them.
This development is now making big breaking news in all the networks. The Clinton Camp and their surrogates are now formally questioning the legitimacy of the election.
Will there also be discussion about our young, vigorous President meddling in foreign politics, trying to throw the Israeli election several years ago in an effort to deny Netanyahu another term? Hmmm?

So why can’t the electors in the Hillary states vote for Trump if they don’t like her ass.
Now that their gambit with Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin has failed they are now taking full aim at the electoral college.
The electors should vote for Trump. We as a country are tired of a few holier than thou people holding up progress. The smokescreens and horseshit MUST stop. Trump won. Your candidate(s)lost. Try again in four years.

If I was the Trump team I would send a note to the Clinton team stating on January 21 there will be a full investigation launched against the Clinton Foundation and Chelsea Clinton.
Let Bill and Hillary decide if they want their daughter going to prison for taking Saudi money to influence the election.
This has all become a bit ridiculous. How do we even know the source of “evidence” presented? The MSM and ValJar propaganda department and CIA Directorate of Operations can produce black propaganda that’s indistinguishable from real sources. There’s no way the electors will know its fake or not and they have no prior training or experience distinguishing the difference. This is a very bad idea. Most seem to be young and will probably change their minds based on false information if they push this narrative and you know they will.
You nailed it. This is war. They won’t stop. First, it was day-after-day marches on the streets, then the multiple efforts at recounts, then the courts, now the electors, and then violence on inauguration day, all aided and abetted by CNN, MSNBC, ABC, CBS, NBC, NY Times, WaPo, LA Times, Chicago Tribune and on and on the list goes.

I think I figured out what’s going on. They are doing everything the canto delegitimize this election because they are all going to prison.
The progressives don’t seem to realize nor care how much the American people dislike cheaters. They are painting themselves into a very tight corner with all of the stunts they a pulling.
Electors don’t have a clearance or a need to know. Follow your oaths and the laws you were elected under and do your duty under the constitution both US and State.
How hard is that to do, oh, wait that would be the right thing to do.
