President-elect Donald Trump announced Monday that he would appoint Goldman Sachs President Gary D. Cohn as the presidents chief economic adviser and director of the National Economic Council.
Mr. Trump said that Mr. Cohn would be able to put his renowned business know-how to work for the American people.
He will help craft economic policies that will grow wages for our workers, stop the exodus of jobs overseas and create many great new opportunities for Americans who have been struggling, Mr. Trump said in a statement. He fully understands the economy and will use all of his vast knowledge and experience to make sure the American people start winning again.

Agree. Plus, no one from Goldman Sachs is entering the administration as a big contributor. Trump owes them nothing.
They enter the administration an employee of Trump with the experience and expertise he's looking for.
I have no problem with the top 2 percent of the best Goldman minds working for Trump!
That is a great way of presenting the matter to those that ride the anti Goldman Sachs bandwagon
What about Stephen Moore who has been helping Trump with economic and tax policy for the last year?
What's that?
I really appreciate someone that knows how to use a question effectively. It is an art.
But wait, I thought we were told by many that Goldman was bad? I thought we just finished a cycle trashing someone who worked at Goldman. In fact trashed their character and the particular person being trashed incessantly wasn’t even running.
Hmmph maybe I got this all wrong. The air stinks of rank hypocrisy
“What do you mean liberals with TDS? It would seem that anyone that is put in Trump’s stable from Goldman Sucks would upset his supporters more than any liberals.
Maybe you were not around when the Trump supporters here on FR were hammering Ted Cruz supporters because his wife was a board member or something high up the food chain at Goldman Sucks.
Possibly you need to do your homework before calling Trump supporters liberals “
That’s called selective memory. You’re supposed to just move along and not point out any hypocrisy. If this weren’t so damn funny I’d be flaming those that partook in the trashing and now all of a sudden act like this is the greatest pick since Jordan was selected instead of Worthy. We are now beset within the worship phase
Amusing. HC.. Hill or Heidi and Both, fired!
I also haven’t seen a peep from the Johnny come lately crowd (in the hundreds) on these boards holding his feet to the fire (as they should) to the same level of account they did to Cruz’ wife who was trashed constantly through the constant barking of Goldman. Funny, those folks have mysteriously vanished. I think we have another Roanoke on our hands
Simply because "Goldman Sachs" was used as a boogeyman trigger during the election cycle doesn't mean that there are no good people that can be found there.
I think President-elect Trump has made it abundantly clear that "business as usual" is going to be a thing of the past in the federal government, at least for the foreseeable future.
So let's allow the President-elect to setup his staff according to his wishes and judgement (which have served him well thus far) and then go through the formality of being inaugurated, followed by giving him a fair amount of time to prove the wisdom of his choices.
Given all that I've seen since Donald Trump announced his candidacy, I can't imagine that he is doing anything other than executing this phase of the process very seriously and thoughtfully.
I just can't join in the hand-wringing fest as yet based on an individual choice here or there...
Hillary's "ties" to Goldamn, was a MONEY DEAL; that's all.
You really don't understand anything at all!
And it was the government, who FORCED banks to make loans to people they knew wouldn't ever pay them back!
It's really best if you don't talk about things you don't truly know much if anything at all about. ;^)
These posts are INSANE and just uneducated drivel.
Gosh were you made an asshole or just born that way?
I condemned twee Teddykins re his NOT being a NBC and stuff like that. I said that his wife is unstable, they have a weird marriage, and that the girls are just "props".
Yes, YOU are a a bag of wind; one who also has a lousy memory.
BWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAhahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
Just how far has being a legend in your own mind gotten you; diddums? LOL
Sam, Sam....it would be far better to not post, than to display how very little you know.
Goldman-Sachs controlled Reagan’s White House? Really ?
Your abject lack of factual knowledge is appalling, to say the least.
