If Joe Manchin, D-WV, flips in order to help him win re-election in 2 years, that will be 53-47. And with Mike Pence being the tie-breaker, it means the Dems would have to flip at least *4* Republicans to inflict damage on our nation on any critical votes.
Weren’t Manchin and another Dem Senator—I forget, a female from the upper West, I believe—also under consideration for appointments by Trump?
Then, of course, many more Dems than Pubs are up for reelection in 2018.
