Only one small flaw in Ms. Mystal's plan. The sort of person who wouldn't take their civic duty seriously and vote "not guilty" for a black accused of murder probably already has a felony conviction of his or her own and is ineligible to serve jury duty.

Honest, hard working people in minority-majority communities don't want these thugs roaming their streets any more than anyone else would.

You mean like the person on the Michael Slager jury who allegedly said that under no circumstances would he vote to convict?

Did he have a felony conviction?

I was on a jury recently—a civil case, only 8 jurors. The plaintiff was a black woman who was asking for about half a million dollars because she had been fired (for not doing her job). The company was represented by a very competent black lawyer. There was one black person on the jury, a retired man, who had no trouble voting against the plaintiff.
