Maybe the globe is warming (which causes cooling) and maybe the globe is cooling (which causes warming). Either way, man is not responsible.

And suppose man is responsible, it is hardly something any country can buy their way out of. The weather does not care how many carbon credits you exchange or buy.

The USA, paying carbon credits because they are rich, does not end the pollution of third worlders.

The whole concept is flawed.

The oceans are the heat sink for the vast majority of solar radiation striking the planets surface. That visible light radiation varies insignificantly over a solar cycle. So think about that. Constant amount of energy entering the world’s oceans. How can they cool in that situation. Only one way, by giving up the heat. When this occurs, the Manbearpigs from planet Gorion come out and proclaim warming, when in fact the oceans are cooling and giving up some of that constant heat input. That heat leaves the ocean and resides in the atmosphere for a short period of time before exiting into space eventually. To address your point, as the oceans cool, the atmosphere warms. But, that ocean cooling is long term, while the atmospheric heating is short term. A very dynamic situation much too complex for progressive minds to handle. So they will continue to deny their error. But overall as the oceans cool, the average temperature will keep dropping and by the time you reach a snowball Earth situation, a significant amount of solar radiation is reflected back to space by snow and ice. So the dynamic changes as the planet cools or warms.
