Dittos....although he may be in charge of enforcement of labor laws (E-verify), which I’m confident will be part of the plan. One truth he spoke referenced the work ethic that he witnessed as head of CKE—it sounded like the entitlement society has created lots of kid too entitled to work at Hardees. This much we know is correct.
I know from experience that, in CA, people hire illegals and will pay them less than minimum wage, no worker’s compensation, and they pay them under the table so the employer doesn’t have to pay payroll taxes either. Then in CA, instead of following the law and not allowing employers to hire illegals, the illegals are allowed to use and get free healthcare, unemployment, etc. The employer gets a slap on the wrist. I think the labor Secretary should make it punitive to employers hiring illegals and let it be known to illegals that they do not have the same rights as legal workers.
