now trump can send taiwan some f-15s, or better yet, f-22s...

I’d think small “PT” type torpedo boats equipped with the best SAMS would work pretty well for them. Send them all the surplus/boneyard F-14/15/16’s and A-10’s they want for $1 each. I’d be looking to outfit some fishing “trawlers” with high powered laser devices that can “loiter” for very long periods or maybe very inexpensive turboprop drones that can target shipping kamikaze style..
Their irritation with us had better have a limit. Without us buying the weekly cargo liner loads of ching-chang stuff coming to our shores, their economy would be in deep doo-doo.
Oh, it already has in some cases. Sort of like having call centers in India.
The best SAMS are bigger than a telephone pole, or at least comparably sized, and the phased array radars aren’t small, either.
Sorry I really do not know.
I was there before the incident, for about a half year. Things then were very different.
All I got about Tiananmen to tell the truth was from the media. I cannot comment on anything from there, on this. And probably don’t want to comment at all because it is a very sensitive time, for the country.
There was an initial protest while I was there, a lead-in to the Tiananmen thing. That I remember, and things seemed very good at that point.
I really do not know, sorry.
I did not know we had surplus A-10s, unless new production has been slated to restart (?), otherwise I would prefer to hang onto those, especially since PRC might regard them as offensive in contrast to purely defensive, given Taiwan’s mountainous terrain (but what do I know, I don’t even play wargames on computer, lol). Drones, hmm, possibly a no-brainer even for me, never enough lol.
Okay. It was worth a shot.
