Trump spokeswoman Hope Hicks said in an email Tuesday that no decisions have been made about the dog. But Pope said she is confident that the Trumps will take the puppy, which she named Patton after George Patton, a World War II general Trump has said he admires.

Oh good grief.
Except for the inclusion of the epic Maligator, the rest sound like designer dog fantasies.
They’d probably match me up with a Yorkie.
:D
Got this ‘thing’ about clicking on your link only because of where it takes me.
Puppy is cute and will a big dog one day. Look at his feet. A bundle of fluff, lovely color (shades of DJTs hair today?) As DHT can be warm and fuzzy at times, perfectly fitting he has a dog who is. And one named Patton, even better. He has a spine, spirit, power to win, nerves of steel, and balls.
American Bull Terrier.
“Donald needs a Dobermann!!!!”
NO!! He needs a Great Dane, like my ferocious beast.
LET THE DOGGIE FLAME WARS BEGIN!
Did you know, that back in the 70s, some dude ran ads in Western Horseman for Saint Doberdanes?
I kid you not.
Utter mad man.
The guard dog impulse isn’t really a great one for a preteen in the White House.
But we nitpick. The boy deserves a dog and a dog no doubt would be good for the boy.
For me, a house isn’t a home without at least one furry pet.
For the name, the only choice, really.
Magnificent dogs.
Actually, now that I think of it, this might be the perfect mascot to greet visitors to see Trump and the White House.
Ugh—need more coffee!

Trump should have a rotty.
I’m throwing my lot in with the poster who said Bull Terrier.
If I hadn’t given my loyalty to Dobes, I’d have them, instead.
Whoops.
Missed the American part.
Bull Terrier, yes.
Were there any pictures? Might have been quite some dogs.
OMG...they were an abomination!
Looked like fat, spotted, block headed, Wolfhoundish-things.
LOL
Sure beats the Saint Doberdanes.
In the magazine, yes.
WH even did a small article on his attempt to “fix the breed traits”.
Ick.
It’s ok. Just images I doubt anyone else would appreciate, but if you know anything about voles, you can imagine. Truthfully, I think they have extremely high pain levels and will eat anything.
Yep! A dog named Patton... I’m thinking German Shepard, Doberman, Mastiff, Wolf Hound, Maremma Sheepdog, etc.
A Labradoodle??? Not so much. They are lovable and playful... no... not a breed worthy of the name Patton.
Apropos of nothing, Christmas music is playing nonstop in my doctors office.
So I’m playing Easy Street from The Walking Dead.
Let’s see who cracks, first.
You are preaching to the choir.
;)
