Trump spokeswoman Hope Hicks said in an email Tuesday that no decisions have been made about the dog. But Pope said she is confident that the Trumps will take the puppy, which she named Patton after George Patton, a World War II general Trump has said he admires.

“Pence has a SNAKE!”
And he probably knew it was a snake when he took it in!

Somehow I don’t see The Donald as the dog owner type. It could be me though, as I’d never want one. I like to see my son’s dog when he brings him over, but it’s not my cup of tea.

Australian Shepherds protect their flock! And they are the smartest dogs.

It needs to be “Made in America”—not some Chinese dog, German dog, etc. How about a malmute!

I hadn’t heard of a couple of those breeds. But they’re not those wee frou-frou dogs. These are big, smart, loyal, don’t shed much, and don’t drool at all. Might be a good fit. Can’t see the PE with a beagle, wiener dog, or a St Bernard, all of which we’ve had and loved.

Cute pup, but I see the Donald as a big dog kinda guy. Therefore I suggest a pair of bull mastiffs to greet him when his helicopter lands and to walk by his side into the Whitehouse.

My 170 pound Cane Corso is named Sherman. I call him Sherm the germ because he’s all over me kissing and slobbering the second i walk out the door!

Trump may be more of a Parrot kind of guy.
He could teach it to say things to keep staff and reporters on their toes.
He could send it out for press conferences.

Yes Bull Terrier.
We used to call them American Bulls many years ago.

That is a big dog.
It’s just too frou-frou for my tastes.

Huh.
They’re actually English Bull Terriers.
American Bulldogs are like big Pit/Boxer type beasts.

LOL, he looks like something Jim Henson would’ve cooked up. Fluffy and cute, but a sort of disturbing intensity in the face if you look too closely.

A dog named Patton. A SecDef named Mad Dog ...
And it’s not yet Christmas!
Starting to get facial cramps from all that ear to ear grinning.
