I live in Maryland. For those of you who aren’t near the Washington DC swamp - there was NO recession here. Federal jobs and federal contractor jobs have been booming the entire time. I think over half of the richest counties in the country are DC suburbs. Many houses around the DC beltway go for over a million dollars (google Chevy Chase or Potomac Maryland).
And don’t call it a “workforce”, which would imply they work. They’re “employees”, not “workers”. They are ENCOURAGED to “work from home” certain days. They cut out of work early every Friday. Generous vacation packages. Insane retirement packages. Imagine the space ship in “Wall-E” and you get a pretty good idea.
“They are ENCOURAGED to work from home certain days.”
I have absolutely no problem with work-from-home if the person is doing their job.
Now, if they’re not doing their job (i.e. “working from home”, quotes emphasized, as you put it :-) ), then they lose that privilege.
I can work anywhere in the world, for the most part, so long as I have my laptop and, occasionally, an internet connection. Only time I *need* to be at work is when new hardware comes in (though that could, in theory, be FedEx’ed to me) or if there are bugs in said new hardware :-). People that “work from home” tend to screw things up every now and then, but those problems are quickly fixed :-).
Thats why the populist uprising was a shock..Gosh,I’m doing well..Isn’t everybody?
They're not employees...they're PARASITES!
Very, very, well subsidized parasites.
