Years ago there was a story on one of those true crime shows. A young pregnant woman, driving on a hot dark night decides to stop for a cold drink from a vending machine. She sits in her car, windows down, sipping away as another car pulls in and some guy gets out.
Now at this point, I’m thinking ...start the car and pull way NOW. In fact, I wouldn’t have even stopped...but that’s just me. BUT NO, she continues slurping away up to the point the guys opens the door and brutally attacks her.
She manages to drive after the attack and ends up following her attacker for a bit.
That story always stuck in my head. No way I am checking my phone if I am by myself.
At the very least, have the windows up, lock your doors and startup the car if you’re going to be just sitting there.
