Along that note- Soebarkah’s attendance at any of the academy’s graduations was especially unwanted and infuriating, by those of us that served proudly under heterosexual Commanders in Chief. PERIOD!
I had a chance to parachute into an Army-Notre Dame game back in November of 1984, in South Bend, Indiana... but an unfaithful spouse had ran off with my son and another duty called, plus- I outranked a fellow soldier and got to make the call to swap duties with him, allowing me drive to court (2,000 mile round trip in 3 days). ;o(
The parachute into the stadium was one of the highlights of the game. IIRC, the paratrooper was carrying an American flag down to a soft landing. I am sorry you didn’t get to do it, but you must have had other amazing parachuting experiences.
