>>One would think a regular delivery guy would drop the pizza off at the front gate and SS would ok it.

One would think there would be extensive checks and controls on ANY food to be consumed by the residents of the White House and their guests.

Doesn't all food consumed in the White House have to be produced there? Surely the SS doesn't vet every employee of every Pizza/Chinese/Whateverfood place in town...

...or, do they? Hmmm.

Hah. Still haven't answered that -- but look at this little gem of Pizzalore...

"Pizza" seems to be interwoven into D.C. culture like some kind of inside joke.

Here we can see it factoring into the Lewinsky Crisis:

=============
"He recalls that Nov. 17, 1995, during the government shutdown, was "pizza night" for Monica L. Lewinsky and President Clinton, according to Lewinsky's daybook. Lewinsky, an unpaid intern, was working at the White House because other employees had been furloughed..."
...
"Perhaps just as important as how much pizza Washington insiders eat during a crisis is what they order on the pizza. According to Meeks, when things go wrong, they take comfort in grease. Meat toppings go up, for example.

The extra cheese factor was particularly telling Wednesday and Thursday nights. The White House ordered 32 percent more extra-cheese pizzas than normal."

"Pizza night" -- Has Team Hillary ever regurgitated, err, openly opined on that?
