In the DNC false consciousness, a carbon tax helps the middle class and working families.
IMO, this is the Democrats Achilles heel — elite Democrats are aggressively trying to force AGW and a carbon tax on the American people. A carbon tax would be worse than Obamacare since everyone would be hit equally since it is a lot like a VAT. How do you give subsidies to poorer Americans if the tax is present during every purchase of every consumable item. I guess that they would figure out a way to do it but like all taxes, the dwindling middle class would be hit the hardest.
