AT&T Inc. will unveil its long-promised over-the-top video service Monday as the company attempts to get a foothold in the future of how Americans watch television.
The service, called DirecTV Now, will launch later this month and be priced starting at $35 a month for more than 100 live streaming television channels. Consumers, analysts and investors will be looking for specifics around possible pricing tiers, channel lineups and bundling options.
The question remains the quality of the product and user experience, said UBS analyst John Hodulik, who estimates the service will have three million users by the end of 2020, a 20% market share for such services.

PSVUE is the best deal of all of them so far. You can also DVR and pause shows included with the service.
LOL. How could a Tennessee Mountain Man not just love this show?
I have time warner internet, $60/month for turbo - I work at home and use VOIP etc so I need the extra bandwidth but if I didn’t I would use a lower speed cheaper internet connection.
The entire show is a fraud. Appeals to mostly low information viewers.
Not all, but most.
I recently changed to TW internet and, at 20MB, I get zero buffering on 1080 streaming.
I do have a super fast router that may help the streaming speed.
Thanks, but I just read about it and no interest in that or anything else on tv (wife watches a few newsey things and cooking shows).
$35 to start and to get anything watchable it will be over $100 within 2 years.
Early adopters lock in $35/mth for 100 channels and 2 simultaneous streams. Just need enough bandwidth on your internet feed to handle it plus your internet. Should not be a problem for me.
I jumped on this on the 30th when it started. For 35 bucks a month it is perfect for me and my wife. Plenty of channels, month to month, etc. I don’t watch sports or premium channels. It streams absolutely perfect on our 18mbps Uverse DSL. Zero buffering. I can’t believe it.
And since we both have AT&T cell phones we can stream on our phones with no data use. This was what I had been waiting on. If they do what they say and in the next few weeks introduce Roku compatibility then I am all set. I’m currently waiting on the free Fire Stick to arrive. Paid 1 month in advance and got that. Great deal.
If you got the 35 a month plan it never goes up unless you cancel or change plans. That’s exactly why I got it.
Yes that is exactly right.
I don’t believe there are free major regular cable channels on roku. The only full news channel I get for free on Roku is Skynews from England. The rest of the roku news channels are not the same channels as on cable TV. It is a bit confusing.
I only have 12mps but still seems like that should be enough for two people - two devices streaming - plus modest internet surfing I do.
What do you think - based on your experience with the service over 18mbps??
“They will never top streaming tv.”
It is streaming TV.
Netflix, Amazon, Sling TV and now,
Direct TV Now.
I can tell you that I have not had a single hiccup with my 18 speed at all. I really expected to but have not. I think you will be fine. I see no reason why your 12 might not be good enough. Try it for free, you have nothing to lose. Or pay the month in advance and get the free fire stick if you need it. Either way you can cancel at any time and you’re not out anything. If your speed is good enough I think you will like it.
bkmk
