I found myself in England in ‘80-’81, when the pound hit a painful $2.50.

I remember 12 Euros for a beer in naples 2 years ago. Believe me, ALL of the cafes wanted my US dollars when they found out where I was from even when the Euro was at par. The Italians knew something back then..

Yes, I do too. And excellent bier, too.

I left Germany December 1970 and it was about DM 3.75 to $1

So those biers were up to about $0.27 if my memory serves me.

Many breweries in the region. Many are pilsner, my favorite.
