Federal officials have denied the final permits required for the Dakota Access Pipeline project in North Dakota. The Army Corps of Engineers announced Sunday it would instead conduct an environmental impact review of the 1,170-mile pipeline project to determine if there are other ways to route the pipeline to avoid a crossing on the Missouri River...

US Sen. Heidi Heitkamp, D-ND, on Dakota Access pipeline: ‘The pipeline still remains in limbo. The incoming administration already stated its support for the project and the courts have already stated twice that it appeared the Corps followed the required process in considering the permit. For the next month and a half, nothing about this project will change’

They had no problem with the Feds dumping cubic tons of toxic waste into the Colorado River.
“Rule of Law”?
There is only Obama’s Rule!
Jan 20 can’t come soon enough...
They should get these trespassers off of the private land that the pipeline is being built on, and finish the project. Defy the Federal government, they have the permits, damn the torpedoes full speed ahead.
I thought an environmental review had already taken place. Do they have to keep doing them until the results make certain people happy?
This brought something to mind. Can you imagine the protests when the wall starts going up? I hope they shut down the area at least 20 miles in.
Time for them to jump back into their teepees and twiddle thumbs.
No surprise here. When has Obama done other than “let the legal process play out”—interminably—and then used some other excuse to shut down energy development? Here the excuse is yet another environmental impact review. The clear strategy is to delay until the developer either gives up or pays compensation into some leftist-directed slush fund.
They already had massive reviews and hundreds of public hearings.
The leftards, as usual, ignore rule of law and engage in massive illegal violent disruption until they get their way.
Apples and oranges. The pipeline is not visible except for a few markers and casing vents.
How the hell do you not cross the Missouri? 6 more weeks baby, then the national nightmare ends.
Just another Obama Regime attempt to weaken America. This piss-poor decision will be flushed down the toilet come Trump along with the rest of Obama’s foul crap.
No. They’ll be drinking cheap etoh, cough syrup and sterno...all “sacred” to their culture.
Its exactly the same. Its a large critical project, opposed by un-American elements for ideological reasons.
Just stall till Jan 21.
Sure, it’s easy to route it where it won’t cross the Missouri River. Just go east to go through downtown Minneapolis, from there to Madison, Wisconsin, and then Loop through the Loop in downtown Chicago on the way south, making sure that you shut down O’Hare airport while you dig across the runways.
Who could be opposed to that?
Fire every single Federal employee involved on Jan. 21.
