Well, now hang on...
Consider it from Trump’s viewpoint.
He is NOT a politician, and never served an elected or appointed government position. In fact, he is somewhat disdainful of those who have.
We voted for him knowing this, and made him president with this knowledge as part of his appeal!
Now he wants to go outside the political bench and find businessmen like himself to serve in his government.
I’d say we therefore shouldn’t be too surprised by some of his picks and considerations.
They seem all over the place, but we did argue that he would assemble a unique team out of the best minds he could find. Whether RINO or CEO or even democrat, he’s already considered a much larger array of disparate folks than most contemporary president-elects!
I am okay with that, for sure—though I do think he has reached his billionaire quota for cabinet members.
And there is just so much of a perception abroad that we have entered wars, etc., to defend our oil production that having the CEO of Exxon become SoS would send a, shall we say, unusual message.
Media narrative is going to be nothing Trumps is doing is right and only a Democrat (Hillary) can save us.
