Well, I can understand what you’re saying, but a great deal of our tax policy, especially business tax, is anti-company, anti-business.
If we can radically change that, I think the enforcement part of this Trump proposal becomes a much lesser issue.
I’m always confounded when people tell me they’re angry about corporations not paying taxes or enough taxes. I always counter, “Well, you do know those taxes are then considered an expense and passed on to the consumer, don’t you?”
All I ever get is dumb looks of non-comprehension/belief or even a doubling-down of stupidity, like “I don’t care! It’s not fair!”
“Dude, your just taxing yourself!”
“I still don’t care! It’s not fair!”
SMH, walk away...
I would eliminate corporate taxes. Puts “for profit” and “nonprofit” corporations on the the equal level they deserve while we’re at it. Should bring a lot of this into line.
But practically taxing people out of being able to move their businesses as they see fit is IMO unAmerican.
They may not absorb them by passing them on to the consumer, but they owe them and do write checks to pay them in one of the highest corporate tax environments on the planet. My tiny corporation pays a very high rate of taxes, as do millions of S-Corps.
