Donald J. Trump will be the next president of the United States and we have the right to protest and stand together against the inexcusable statements he has made about, and the harmful policies he promises to enact against, immigrants, Muslims, black Americans, the disabled, the LGBTQ+ community and women, organizers wrote in a description for a Facebook event.

Betting that a critical mass of the faculty including the principal is in on this, so your wish is in vain.
Just refuse to bargain with their stupid union. If they want a union they can go work in the private sector.
Get all the unions OFF public property!
A feelgood exercise, no doubt about it.
My guess is that the walk out is already being accommodated by faculty by scheduling nothing academic on that day anyhow.
It’s all fun and games while none of one’s skin is in it. Ah, but God will not be mocked yet. They might as well enjoy being little children while they have this final chance because that will be it.
The school should schedule s very important test the day of the planned walkout. A test that counts as 50% of they grade for the semester. No makeup test allowed.
Yes. Either strip them of their axpayer funding, or strip them of having unions.
Oh snort. They’re probably clearing the calendars for it.
And shame on CBS, NBC, ABC, CNN, ad infinitum...
“...public schools are nothing more than Stalinist Brainwashing Factories.”
17. Get control of the schools. Use them as transmission belts for socialism and current Communist propaganda.

I suspect the students know their faculty are Lefties and are taking advantage of their bias to cut class. They are probably high-fiving each other for getting over on the faculty for a day of fun.
I don’t get ‘Q’ either...I thought it was NOT PC... and what you were called of you happened to wear green on Thursday.
Stupid damn kids.
Great time to watch Starwars instead of algebra.
My HS didn’t have a program until the early 90s and it was the richest in the state.
I graduated in 89 and it irked me to no end. A good many of the ones in my class would have done almost anything to get one if it.
The principal was a moron, one of the vice principals a fool but the least powerful vice principal was of course a sensible guy.
Too bad Question 2 (Charter Schools) failed. Not surprisingly Question 4 (legalized drugs) passed.
There is no undifferentiated "right to protest".
There is a right to speak freely (Congress can't pass a law to punish you for what you say). There is a right to assemble peaceably for the purpose of petitioning the government for redress of grievances.
In the sense that "protest" is supposed to piss people off, and to provoke them to react, without involving any grievances that government can or should provide redress for, then you have no such right, and society was safer, fairer, and happier when "protests" were not allowed.
Are state and federal taxpayers onboard with this “field day”? If not, truancy logs will have to be absolutely accurate for accounting purposes, parents notified of absences, restrictions and expulsions carried through and if tests are missed, failure grades assigned.
Public schools are not bound by statute and code to promote, authorize, nor advocate these activities.
High schoolers will walk out for any reason - most probably got some beer and took their babes out someplace to “enjoy youth”....
It’s the damn teacher’s unions.
A mass walkout against laws that do not allow anyone to cross our borders and live here illegally. These high schoolers have not lived long enough to have an opinion that is wrong and one that leads to a walk out. School officials could explain legal and illegal.. or they could encourage the idea they can go against the laws on the book. Personally, I have no tolerance to these young liberals and their foolishness. They don’t know enough ... but they do know a walk out gets them out of classes.
