President-elect Donald Trump said hes looking to cut back federal global warming programs, which he claims are hurting U.S. competitiveness.
Hes got a lot of work ahead of him: Federal agencies plan to spend $27 billion on global warming-related programs next year.
The White House reported to House Republicans that 18 federal agencies combined spent about $22 billion on global warming activities in 2013, but defined global warming much more narrowly than the agencies themselves.
Federal agencies want to spend $12 billion on global warming programs in 2017, according to Salon, but the left-wing news site only factored in six of 18 agencies with such programs. The government plans to spend closer to $27 billion on global warming.
The Department of Energy planned to spend $8.5 billion next year on global warming-related research on energy efficiency, basic science and energy research.

1 billion to skeptics. One billion to climate change enthusiasts
Trump should cut the entire amount. He should already be reviewing every Department and making plans to cut every assinine rule, regulation, etcc. We could save $Trillions immediately. This may be the only time in history to do this. Do it now. Also, he should be auditing every Department to see where all the stolen monies went. $6 Billion from State. Obama handing out $100’s of millions to “educae women” in foreign countries. Money is held by Obama’s foundations and will never be disbursed to anyone. Time to clean up the mess.
Great post!
And go after the con-artists posing as scientists who ripped off some of the $27 billion from previous years.
If you look at the NIH budget for research funding (a very interesting read...), there are global warming categories that are funded in the millions. Why are these part of the National Institute of Health budget?
https://report.nih.gov/categorical_spending.aspx
Climate Change $7
Climate-Related Exposures and Conditions $154
Global Warming Climate Change $6
I’m sure these are tucked into every single budget as ‘mandatory’. This would be a good place to start cutting....
THAT was his platform all along.
How do you figure that? By my reckoning that equals about 540 schools based on union wages, payoffs and government theft.
President Trump comes to the position with the knowledge and experience of dealing with NEW YAWK CITY unions and attitudes, and I have complete faith he will remove the obstacles that have blinded and prevented us from THINKING like the free Americans we were supposed to be.
I'm not sure many have analyzed the "again" in "Make America Great Again".
WHEN ... or in what era or years, do you think President Trump is channeling when he uses the word "again"
I'll tell you what I think ... I think (because I'm almost 69 and we come from the same era) President Trump sees the Norman Rockwellian late 40's 50's !
An America that has successfully subdued and win many MAJOR battles during the greatest and largest of WORLD wars ever experienced by mankind.
America had harnessed and tamed the Industrial revolution and was making everything that, to this day, every foreign nation covets "made in America" on the label !
President Trump hears the factory whistle (that sounds SO much like an 1800's steam locomotive) again calling men to work and sending them home with a paycheck.
THAT'S the "again" I believe is in Make America Great Again and President Trump is setting up the game board so we can soonest, pass GO and collect $200.
RIGHT!
He should cut $50 billion. Have the slimy bastards who have been sucking at the government teat their entire careers pay back $23 billion that they flushed down the commode. $27 billion cut + $23 billion refund = $50 billion.
Let those whiny professors and their PhD grad students figure out how to get the money to pay it back.
Let believers pay for their Climate Change agenda.
Talk about pi**ing away $27 billion...they'd just trash those brand new schools in two years.
More like "every taxpayer in the country gets a Merry Christmas, part 2". Divide the savings and give it back, proportional to how much each citizen paid in. Talk about economic stimulus.
Scouts Out! Cavalry Ho! God Bless Texas!
$28 Billion works for me—
Make them pay back the amounts still in their bank accounts.
I’ll bet that NONE of their accounts are empty.
Spend that much money on building dams on the rivers to keep good fresh water from being lost to sea.
Green the West, restore the aquifers farmers have depleted, eliminate drought worries, and fight any sea level rise by reducing the rainfall that makes its way back out to sea. Maybe make the money back selling water rights to the captured water.
