While Palin is technically correct, she apparently doesn’t realize that Trump ISN”T President yet. There is no way Trump can do an across the board tax reduction for all business until after the inauguration. But, since Pence is still Indiana’s Governor, Trump can communicate with Carrier his intention of seeking a reduction in the corporate tax rate once he takes office.
From what I understand, the 7 million dollar tax break was on the table before Carrier made the decision to move. Obviously with Trump winning the election and having a talk with United Technologies CEO the business climate has changed to the point where staying was a win-win for Carrier and United Technologies.
While I have high regard for Sarah, sometimes I think her reactions are more about her than about what is best for the country.
The YUGE caveat to that however is the Trump/Pence Factor which is, imho, already working its 'magic' (aka experience & integrity) in the background.
Thanks for your insight on this for those of us perhaps less conversant with the details.
I love Sarah - voted for her in '08 - but sometimes wonder if your assessment mightn't be a little closer to the mark than I'd care to admit.
