The idea is to give them amnesty, a path to citizenship. Then they’ll pay payroll taxes with their employers.
We know the gop-e wants amnesty because that’s what businesses want and because they feel hispanics will want to vote GOP in gratitude but I think social/medicare is pushing politicians towards more immigration in order to pay for it.
I still don’t see how low income workers help SS, since they don’t pay in much. And later on, since SS is socialized low income workers get much more back than they ever paid in ( while high income workers don’t get everything they paid in). But politicians don’t look that far ahead!
