ABC News has the story:
Sarah Palin Under Consideration for VA Secretary
Sarah Palin is under consideration for secretary of veterans affairs, a close Palin aide and a top Donald Trump transition official tell ABC News.
The Palin aide tells ABC News that in recent days, Palin told Trump transition officials: I feel as though the megaphone I have been provided can be used in a productive and positive way to help those desperately in need.
The VA is the largest government agency with over 300,000 federal employees and a budget of $182 billion for 2017.
Palins son-in-law, Medal of Honor recipient Dakota Meyer, posted a SarahPAC video to his Facebook page earlier this week that heavily focuses on her work with veterans and her specific connection to the community. Her eldest son, Track, is a veteran who served in Iraq in 2008. The video, which is not new, seems to clearly show her interest in the position, and in the speech, she hits the VA bureaucracy, saying it is killing our vets.

It's like bubble wrap only better!
“Interior would have been perfect for Palin.”
indeed. as gov of a state like alaska, palin would be VERY qualified to run Interior and reverse ALL of obama’s policies there.
You said: “Besides wouldnt Gen. Patreaus who commanded the men the VA treats and has their respect be better at draining the swamp at the VA. A 4 star General ordering the VA around would be something to watch.”
I had the same hope the former Army Chief of Staff, Eric Shinseki, would actually fix the VA when he was made its secretary. Obviously he failed and perhaps didn’t even try, which is (I’m left without a word to describe his epic fail.)
Palin knows how to kick ass and take names, and her son is a vet. Turn her loose. And lib heads would explode. I love seeing their brains drip from the ceiling. Figuratively, of course.
Civil Service protected civilians would just give the finger with impunity to some general who tried to order them around.
"Sources within the transition team have floated current House Veterans Affairs Committee Chairman Jeff Miller, R-Fla., as a possible candidate. Miller, who is retiring from Congress, is not a veteran but has been among the leaders in VA reform efforts in recent years, co-authoring the 2014 bill which created the Veterans Choice Card program."
Another candidate:
"Pete Hegseth, the former president of the conservative advocacy group Concerned Veterans for America, served in Iraq with the Minnesota National Guard and has been a vocal advocate for sweeping VA reform."
That is an interesting idea, but bring on Pete Hegseth [US Army officer & combat Veteran] as her assistant, then UNLEASH them to clean out that rats nest of a dept. with NO holds barred, break the death grip of the unions that is around the throats of us Veterans, fire & arrest all those accused of crimes [on ALL levels of admin], listen to the “whistle blowers”, and then we’ll believe in the va again. And btw have the President Trump, hold congress’s feet to the fire & restore the broken promises made to us.
Don’t know if she even wants a position in the govt. But I sure hope so!
THat would also keep Petraus out of state — because it would be weird putting a guy who leaked classified information into a position we just hit Hillary for because she leaked classified information.
VA staff cannot be fired?
Trump is a pro at contracts who said all contracts come to an end. Lawyer politicians are just p*ss*es & losers.
yup, that was the inspiration.
...an acronym I've not encountered before. Please explain...
I am growing weary with the wail that only a military veteran can run the VA. A significant part of the problem now is the result of inept and indifferent military commanders as titular head of the VA. A person with Palin’s skills and temperament can clean up the disgraceful system that, at present, fails to provide the contractually promised care earned by our service members.
American Federation of Government Employees.
If anybody can fix the VA, she can. She took on the oil companies while in Alaska — she beat them!
VA is much bigger responsibility than Interior. VA budget/employees is about x4 Interior
Google showed me that an HGWT lunch box like the one I had in elementary school sold at an auction for $280.
I wish I had kept it. :(
“I am growing weary with the wail that only a military veteran can run the VA”
I agree, just look at one of the last failures, General Eric Shitstiki!
