The FBI still hasnt turned over to the State Department any of the messages it reportedly obtained from the computer shared by top Clinton aide Huma Abedin and her now-estranged husband Anthony Weiner, the administration told a federal judge Tuesday.
FBI officials have signaled they will eventually turn over any State Department documents they obtain, lawyers said but there is no time frame for doing so.
We havent recovered anything from the FBI, said Lisa A. Olson, the Justice Department lawyer handling the case.

It’s much better this way because the DOJ would just call on the BleachBit folks. I hope that the NYPD has backups as well.
Not unless he decides to retire...the job is his for 10 years from appointment..

If you do some research you will find out that that’s not true. He CAN be removed by the president. No less an authority than the Congressional Research Service has reported on and documented this fact.
Probably waiting for President Trump to take office.
We don’t need any pardons right now.
My first thought.
My second was that there’s enough there to keep them busy for a few more months.
Excellent point.
(hat tip thinden)......interesting that payments due the Clinton Foundation were rumored to be used by Hillary's campaign.
Makes one wonder if that is the pitch Democrat bundlers were using?
We can make your campaign donation TAX DEDUCTIBLE! Just wire it in to the Clinton Foundation.

Has the employment arrangement changed since...
Defiant FBI Chief Is Fired by President : Law enforcement: Alleged ethical abuses by Sessions are cited as reason for dismissal. He refused to resign.

I wouldn’t hold my breath - isn’t this the same FBI that took a sledge hammer to Clinton’s electronic devices?
Bet they come up missing the Obama’s last day in the WH.

Wouldn’t it be sweet if they showed up on President Trump’s desk right after his inauguration.

I agree.
Indeed the feds are pi%%ed at Obama maybe other documents to show up too.
I wouldn’t count on them trying to wind down. What I expect all in the bureaucracy to be doing is to carefully cover their tracks on anything they do that could be questionable. They know that the likes of Gowdy/Chaffetz/Sessions on the Hill are going to be doing plenty of oversight work. Oh on Sessions he’ll still be doing oversight but somewhere else besides the Hill ;) So all the chain of command, Inspector Generals, DOJ, and other overseers (such as the congressional committees) will be able to get whatever information they need to do good investigations. Thus they all have to keep their noses clean.
I think the firing of an FBI Director has to be for cause and I would say the Sessions firing was. We all know that would apply to Comey but I’m sure the law would see it differently. I can’t imagine he’d want to hang around in Trump’s administration but we never expected he’d make the decisions he made about Hillary either. Should be interesting...
Maybe we should be boiling water out of (and disinfecting) the swamp instead of just draining it?
We’re gonna need a bigger holding pond.
Congress has all the dirties, guess we will have to wait until January for the swamp draining to begin.
A direct answer to that question seems to be all over the place. Some articles say it would be up to the Justice Department to make that move. Some say it’s out of the president’s hands. Personally I would say from previous reading that a president would only be able to fire one for “cause”. Like I replied to another poster, we see “cause” when it comes to Comey but would the law? Freepers may be keeping search engines busy on this question as several I’ve gone to aren’t responding!!
