I wonder about statements like that; I’ve heard the same for my state of NJ, but as the illegals pile up here I wonder if their costs (often subsidized by federal wealth transfers) are included in the calculation. Like CA, we are losing jobs and American taxpayers while trafficking hordes of illegals here just to prevent ghost towns from appearing. At some point the costs of these largely unemployable people on the dole must reach a tipping point.
Agreed. I’ve also heard that southern states receive more than they contribute. Yet I suspect that calculation includes the elderly retiree (who can no longer afford living in blue America) benefits for SS and Medicare, and military payments for the very large installations strewn across the south.
