Bourbon Street mass shooting’s second suspect arrested in Lafayette, NOPD says

The second suspect in the Bourbon Street mass shooting Nov. 27 has been arrested in Lafayette, New Orleans police said Friday (Dec. 2).
Authorities arrested Kavon Manuel, 20.
New Orleans detectives working together State Police arrested Manuel on Friday at a home in the Lafayette area, NOPD said in a press release. The arrest comes just hours after authorities arrested Jordan Clay, 20, who is accused of being the other shooter in an exchange of gunfire that killed one and wounded nine people.
Both Clay and Manuel are from the Lafayette area and will be extradited to New Orleans, NOPD said.
Jordan Clay, 20, of Lafayette, was taken into custody in St. Martin Parish, New Orleans police said.
The two men face second-degree murder charges and nine counts of attempted murder according to NOPD. Baton Rouge artist Demontris Toliver was killed in the French Quarter crossfire. Toliver was in town celebrating his birthday. He was walking down Bourbon Street with his fiancee when bullets hit him in the chest and shoulder.
Police said that the suspects knew each other and had an argument before opening fire near Bourbon and Iberville Streets. Clay’s arrest came after the shooting shut down the 100 block and parts of the 200 block of Bourbon Street for hours while police investigated the crime scene.
NOPD Superintendent Michael Harrison noted early in the investigation that police knew who the suspects where and none of the victims struck during the gunfire were intended targets.
