When I was in college we didn’t have Post-It Notes and certainly didn’t write notes to a human being using this phrase. The word was reserved only for our four legged cat animals.
If someone didn’t agree with us about something that was really important, we just didn’t bother with them any more. Obviously we spent too much time studying, learning and going to class which was what our parents paid for us to do.
