I worked at 7-11 for about three years; I rarely shop there now. Nothing against the company; I’ve just seen too much of it.

I liked their coffee when I first returned from living in Europe for a year, because most American coffee is flavorless next to European coffee. But Starbucks eventually expanded, and I was able to get coffee that was more European style than anything I could get at 7-11. At home, I drink dark roast—again, more European style. I think American style coffee tends towards the light or medium roasts, which I find nearly flavorless.

Same with me. Our 7-11 offers a few varieties, and I always choose their dark roast. Likewise with Starbucks. At home, I've found that Wegmans has a good dark roast.
