Former Governor Romney was one of Donald Trump’s harshest critics during the election. He assisted his opponents and was essentially working to get Hillary Clinton elected.
Donald Trump met with Mitt Romney in New Jersey last week. Sources said he was interviewing for the Secretary of State position with the Trump administration.
Trump supporters HATE the idea.
Now this… Transition Team sources told Ed Henry from FOX News that Mitt Romney is preparing a public apology. Mitt Romney is reportedly very interested in the Secretary of State job.

as angry as I am at Romney. there is an ugly truth. it is better to have him in camp along those who are his supporters then to have him an outside agitator. if you thought the behavior of the left was brutal in the election wait till trump actually starts implementing everything he wants to implement. to do what he needs trump needs highly qualified people and he needs people that are not scared to call him on the carpet. that means a very diverse group politically and it means trying to work with what he has.in my opinion Trump is very good at reading people and if Romney is not working out he will just get rid of him and put in someone else. at this point we need someone like Romney because he is sure of himself and highly competent. I am guessing that if there was no meeting of the minds on foreign policy neither would want to work together so lets just wait and not tear are selves apart right now.

I’m not sure if there is something I don’t know about Rudy that others know or what.
I know this much... I like and respect him. I know he is more liberal than me, but I don’t care about that. He’s a good guy.
But it’s up to Trump to make the call and form the government.
I gave him my trust and my tiny amount of authority as a single American citizen by way of my vote, so I am not going to start second guessing him.
I think it’s kind of interesting to note that in the appointment of Haley and possibly Romney, Trump seems much less thin skinned than some have suggested.
I’d have to say that he is less thin skinned than me. I’d be pretty mad at those two.

i agree on both points. i certainly feel that Romney would have been better than the Obamanation. and, i thought this nation got over its religious prejudice when JFK was elected?
Noticed at their first meeting at the golf course that Trump stayed on the area at the top of the several stairs forcing Mittens to go through the greeting standing several steps lower. No accident, I think.

We fought against that crap. It’s just like the Republicans getting elected and doing what the Dems do but then it’s ok because “At we’re in charge”. However....Romney has experience raising money not only for himself but for other politicians. This one skill alone will go a long way in getting Congress to vote for Trump's agenda. It is better to have Romney on the team.
If he does a really good job then Trump can give him press secretary and he can go up there and spin for a living

Romney will be playing for his own team. It won’t take long for there to be leaks of disagreements and then Romney will just outright disagree with Trump in public. It’s obvious too. It’ll frustrate me to no end when it happens because it’s so predictable

you FR people in TN are really fixated on mormonism aren’t you? do you think people will succumb to mormonism as if it were some nerve gas that will be fatally spread by Romney if he were to become Sec of State? people do have their own religious beliefs, and will not be coerced into believing something just because Romney is our Sec of State.
So?....How long do you think Trump would tolerate that? Not long is my guess and Romney is smart enough to know that.
