In the end, I want the best man or woman for SOS; that job in recent years has been very important.

This is a good article on Bolton saying he was freezed out of the Iraq invasion planning by Powell and Armitage; but if as people say, he has called for regime change in Iran, I wonder about that.

I hope Trump is as smart as I think he is.
However, I am troubled that he is even giving Romney the time of day.

Don’t do it Donald! Please!

I don’t like the idea, but if Mitt were to give as impassioned apology as he gave the anti Trump speech, then it won’t be as bad. Someone like Romney who can humble himself to make a public & severe apology says a little extra. Plus we don’t know what he and Trump talked about and will probably never know. I trust Trump. But it better be a dang good apology.

As SOS, Romney won't have sole decisions on state affairs but rather will have to negotiate whatever the president and his administration decide. To that end, I have no problem with Romney in that position.

With that being said, based on his vocal opposition to Trump AFTER Trump was the chosen nominee of the party, there is no way in hell that Trump should consider Romney for any position whatsoever.........He burned his bridges.

Loser Jeb Bush raised over $100 million dollars. There definitely is a country club segment to the GOP and Romney is wired in to them.

I agree. Mitt made a lot of us angry with his poor treatment of the nominee, but he does have professional skills we could put to good use. Mitt already knows he will be on probation status from the word go. This may be his last chance to establish a legacy at a White House level.
Huckabee will be spitting roof nails if this happens, and may refuse to work with The Donald because of it. That decision would be Huckabee’s loss.

lol yes it could have been meant for cruz at the time but the snake can be many people was what I understood as Donald spoke in many of his primary rallies and many times just read the poem at the end.

I know it almost sounds sinister...but methinks that this is what Trump planned all along to publicly humiliate the chief GOP e guy who had nothing nice to say about Trump...
all the responses they have got according to kellyanne conroy are negative so Trump can say i am the American President and the people don’t want this schlub...( well he will use a more diplomatic term) and then pick somebody else

I used to. I lived there throughout Mitt’s tenure. The way way he jacked fees and other government extortion-payments through the stratosphere, just so he could pay for a bloated, ever-expanding bureaucracy while claiming he didn’t raise taxes, was criminal—not to mention the height of dishonesty. Occasionally I see people characterize Romney as, ‘honest.’ They simply have no clue.

Trump’s election demonstrates that the money raised by failed candidates is irrelevant. You can always find people who will throw money down the drain.

“If he appointed Bush or Graham, I’d blow a gasket.”

I agree with that. Mitt would have to realize that he represents the views of President Trump. One false move and he is gone.

We need a loyal and competent SOS. Romney just wants it as a stepping stone to the Presidency or a way to undermine Trump.
