Good article & comments, here:

What’s the energy delivery, typically, of a .22 CB cap compared to, say, my .22 break barrel pellet rifle (which should have a muzzle velocity around 850 fps with the Crossman “Destroyer” pellets.)
The break barrel pellet rifle gets very unwieldy in certain close quarter situations, say, a big opossum inside the chicken house. I’m thinking CB cap in my long barrel .22 revolver? (One would still have to be very careful of ricochet in case the darn critter moves its head just as the shot is taken.)
My 5” Ruger Mk2 shoots them LOUD. You need barrel length to have quiet. BTW, CB caps generally do not function well in semi autos. In my kids 1022, I load up the .22 CCI ‘Long’ CB caps. You have to pull the slide back for each shot but they feed nice.
Mostly I use my 1938 made Sears ranger bolt action rifle. They also feed well in my kids Henry lever gun.
