Gun Owners ‘Can Breathe Again’: Trump’s Win Emboldens Advocates
New York Times gently sobs into their pillows.... ^ | 11/22/2016 | By MANNY FERNANDEZ and MITCH SMITH

HOUSTON — Before the election, gun rights activists were so worried Hillary Clinton would win the presidency that some of them bought extra ammunition and guns, fearing a crackdown on certain weapons, bullets and magazines.

They’re not worried now. Instead, since the election of Donald J. Trump, gun advocates have been rejoicing, crowing about their political clout and plotting ways to eliminate many remaining curbs on gun ownership and use as they await one of the most vocal pro-gun presidential candidates ever to enter the White House.

“We’ve been threatened. We’ve been bullied. We’ve been ridiculed for eight years,” said Alice Tripp, legislative director of the Texas State Rifle Association, the state affiliate of the National Rifle Association. “I expect the tone to change. If tone sets policy, then we’ve got it made.”

It was more than just the outcome of the presidential race. Gun advocates played a role in flipping the State Senate in Iowa from blue to red and helped defeat a ballot initiative in Maine that would have required universal background checks for gun sales.

I have considered something similar. A discount of sales tax for every person that open carries a gun.

Another could be a rebate of the 10% tax on firearms and ammuntion for people who carry. That tax (federal, Pitman Robertson) is for hunting purposes.

At least the gun stores are getting 5.56mm back on the shelves after all the “Election Day sales”

Nice. Same page.
The more we increase our numbers, the better off we’ll all be.
I figured that if the $200 tax credit were to be implemented, it would encourage more Americans to carry. Making America safer, helping law enforcement, decreasing crime, and increasing people’s appreciation for firearms in general.

It would also put pressure onto those states who still restrict CCW (California, New Jersey, New York, etc.) for their citizens to make phone calls to their elected hoplophobes asking, “WHY can’t WE have this tax credit?!”

The more, the merrier.

The biggest threat wasn’t new gun control laws. Hillary would just sue the gun manufacturers until they all went out of business while claiming she won’t touch the 2A

“fearing a crackdown on certain weapons, bullets and magazines.”

Patriots don’t worry about getting whatever they need.

I’m still waiting for ammo prices to drop.
.22 is still hard to come by.
Hopeful that it returns to be plentiful and cheap again.

That's so true. Thankfully, though, I live in Michigan.

Same here my friend. It’s good to be completely surrounded by Class III legal states.

Trust. But verify. A smart guy said that a while back.

He was a pretty smart guy, wasn’t he. And my martial arts teacher always said, “The fight’s not over.” It never is.

At the Walmarts around here, the shelves are full again, with everything except .22.
I can find it, but it’s still $.08 a round or better.
Hoping for the days of $.03 a round again.
.22 magnum is still north of $.20 a round.
Plentiful and cheap is still not here.

Yes, you still must spend... but that might not change. Many more people are into guns than were in 2008.
