As additional votes have been counted in the presidential election, especially on the West Coast, Hillary Clinton's national popular-vote lead over Donald Trump now exceeds 2 million votes, according to an ongoing tally by the Cook Political Report's David Wasserman.
Hillary Clinton's vote total is 64,223,986 (48.1% of the vote), while Trump's is 62,206,395 (46.6%) - a difference of 2,017,591 votes (1.5%).
To put that popular-vote margin into perspective, Al Gore's popular-vote lead over George W. Bush in 2000 - when Bush won the Electoral College - was 547,000 votes. Also noteworthy: Clinton's 64-plus million votes is nearing in on the 65.9 million Barack Obama won in 2012.
Of course, presidents are elected by the Electoral College, not the popular vote, and what sunk Clinton's campaign was her performance in the key battleground states, particularly in the Midwest. And by Wasserman's count, Trump beat Clinton in 13 key swing states by a 48.5%-to-46.6% margin. In the non-swing states, though, Clinton is ahead of Trump 48.9%-to-45.6%.
Trump isn’t going after her. Or he is. Or maybe he isnt. Like many things recently, it is up in the air.
We will have to just wait and see.
Green Party has actually demanded a recount. This is only so they can make some money. Next few weeks will be very interesting all around.

Any reasonable person who spends the briefest time imagining a NATIONWIDE recount sees the idiocy of considering a ‘popular vote’ presidential election.
It’s bad enough when we hand out voter IDs with driver’s licenses, or at shopping malls, or who knows maybe they’ll include a few with every packet of food stamps.
They oppose making voters identify themselves. They’re pushing for the right for felons to vote. The president himself takes to the air and assures non citizens that they won’t pay the price for their fraudulent votes.
They are doing all they can to ratchet up the fraud, to import law-breaking voters, to win voting rights for the least qualified... Trump needs to drain this swamp too.

When Leslie Stahl interviewed TRUMP; he stated that IF the
RULES had been the popular vote, he WOULD HAVE STILL WON
as he would have campaigned in a different manner to
accommodate the popular vote rule. He played by the rules.
In other news, Carolina was awarded the 2015-16 Super Bowl trophy because they had a better regular season record than the Denver Broncos.

These losers aren’t going to stop until Hillary is ahead of Trump by a billion “popular” votes. Why don’t they just get a life and get over it? The system worked as designed. We have a President-elect who is not beholden to a few large states with a few large metropolitan centers. We have a much better system, IMO, thanks to the wisdom and foresight of good, decent, moral men.
Trump made a great analogy to golf.
The popular vote is like stroke play where the electoral college is like match play.
