As they should. Just because we may not like something (menincluded$ doesn’t make it right in the eyes of the law

“”violates the Religious Land Use and Institutionalized Persons Act.””

Don’t know nuthin’ ‘bout no Institutionalized Persons Act but it’s clear that there is a bunch of them thar persons that need to be institutionalized - and durn QUICK!

Oh! I see - the names do go together. Not that that makes anything any more clear. All a bunch of hornswoggle. What idiot dreamed this name up? Looks like it came from 1980 and later had additions. Of course!

Someone please tell me this is a joke! But if not, GOOD FOR NEW JERSEY - set a trend there N. J., let it spread nationwide. Other communities didn’t have the guts to do this.

Apparently the liberals at the Dj were not satisfied with their defeat on November 9th. Keep this sort of demand up and New Jersey may flip GOP too.

I suspect there is more to the story than what we see here. I will post more details later.

Islamic Society of Basking Ridge (ISBR) and ISBR President Ali Chaudry want to build a 4300 sq ft mosque on a piece of land between 2 residential homes. As I recall, they wanted to enlarge the parking lot capacity which is against code. Moreover, the Justice Department’s lead investigator is friends with Chaudry. They served together on Drew University’s 14-member Center for Religion and Cultural Conflicts (CRCC).

We all saw this coming. I can’t wait for the DOJ to drop this. By the way, this would sit across from a park and the local fire department. The towns reasons for not approving were well reasoned. Unfortunately, there were some public comments that railed against Islam. But the public is not the zoning board.

Would they file a suit for the Nazis during Hitlers’s Nazi era?

The fools need to recognize that Islam in the democratic world is an invasive political enemy force. They need to be aware of the teachings in the Koran, the Hadiths and Sura.

Their goal, the world of islam, is to supplant existing host constitutions with islam.

The asses need to wake up.

Islam is NOT a religion, but a piratical political force bent on global domination by pirates!!!!

Building a huge mosque on US Hwy 202-206 in Bridgewater Township, only a few miles from the mosque in question here. Also as the result of a lawsuit, in which the township caved.

All the town lawyer needs to do is ask to continue the case past the Holidays, specifically, past January 20th.

Although he can’t quite say it, because he’s effectively forum shopping, I suspect DOJ won’t pursue this with quite the same verve after Sessions heads it.

Keep in mind that Federal statutes like the one that is the basis of this lawsuit may very well end up saving the day for the bakery owners in those “bake a gay wedding cake” cases.

I don't think the DOJ is going to drop this case. In a great bit of irony, it is likely to be decided along the same lines as a similar case brought in Toms River in central New Jersey where a ruling was just issued in August.

I say "a great bit of irony" because that case involved an Orthodox Jewish group whose application to build a yeshiva was rejected by the town.

A Federal suit was filed on the exact same ground as this Bernards Township case, and the town lost.

The town probably had a stronger argument in the Toms River case because the yeshiva included a dormitory with 80+ people living on site -- which is not the case here. This case in Bernards Township is going to end the exact same way. You can bank on it.

I've worked with zoning boards in my profession (from both sides), and in controversial cases like this I've come across an interesting dynamic that sometimes unfolds. I've been involved in a couple of rejected applications where the town government knew damn well that they'd lose in a Federal lawsuit down the road, but they proceeded with their decision anyway because they just wanted to get it out of the local political discussion. Their rationale was simple:

1. This application is politically unpopular.

2. We'll lose a legal challenge if we reject it.

3. We'll lose our seats on the town council (or zoning board, or planning board, etc.) if we approve it.

4. Let's just reject it so we can get it off our desks and blame a Federal judge when the project gets built.

I'm not saying that's what is happening here in this case, but I wouldn't be shocked if something like this is going on behind the scenes.

Winners: Muslims and liberal DOJ employees.
Losers: tax payers at both ends.
