An economist added it up, the total amount of US funds spent since the War on Poverty:

You could buy EVERY share of EVERY company on the NYSE with that money.

You would still have left over enough money to buy EVERY acre of farmland in the USA.

REPARATIONS...?

To white folks, right?

Well, if we calculate that they are actually due the 40 acres and a mule they were promised, then the 4 million slaves in 1863 were due 160 million acres plus mules. If we divide that number amongst the 43 million current black population, they are each due less than 4 acres and 1/10th of a mule (call that another $100).

Four acres of unimproved farmland is worth about $5,000. If we subtract the welfare paid out to blacks over the past 50 years, they would definitely owe. Even if we subtracted just the value of affirmative action or race based financial aid to college students, I suspect they would owe.
