I don’t think that is correct.
They can be fined - though that is of questionable legality.
It’s leftists - mostly Sanders followers incorporated to give Hillary’s nomination a happy face - try to make a mess. It’s what they do. The question is whether Trump got his supporters as Electors. If he did, there’d be no reason to expect anyone who matters to change.
Electors receiving death threats have been interviewed where they explain that most states have laws that will replace them if they fail to vote as the state goes.
