There is absolutely no way, 0 way, that a blast ball cause any injury to this woman that we require her arm to be amputated....or even broken.
These blast balls are essentially an oversozed and thicker inner portion of a tennis ball with a tiny portion of accellerant and sometimes some OC powder.
I have used these and have had one go off against my ankle. The only think that happemed was I was startled by the sound and my pants and sock got white powder on them.
I believe someone was picking up or near a pipe bomb and it went off.

The description of her injuries exactly matches the description of several victims, injuries as a result of the Boston bombing.
