Hours after scolding TV-news executives in a meeting, president-elect Donald Trump decided to make a brief address Monday on YouTube updating the nation on where his transition efforts stand.
In one of the few appearances he has made in the two weeks since he defeated Hillary Clinton for the U.S. presidency, Trump devoted the two-and-a-half-minute clip to an overview of his priorities, from interviewing cabinet members to his policy plans in the first 100 days.
He emphasized his intent to bring back more jobs to the country. Thats what we want and thats what weve been waiting for, Trump said in what appeared to be a scripted speech.
In recent weeks, Trump has been criticized for not maintaining a high-enough profile beyond some controversial tweets and an interview in The Wall Street Journal. He is scheduled to meet Tuesday with executives and editors from the New York Times.
That he chose to make his videotaped comments on YouTube also comes as some surprise considering he has maintained a more active presence on Twitter, which can also support live and taped video. Trump also made much use of Facebook during his presidential campaign, to the point where his video efforts on that platform were widely considered to be a beta version of an anticipated Trump TV channel.

Thwn he can switch to another damn platform. To h3ll with them.
Exactly. When he gets in office this can be the method.
Unlike ObucketOshiite, I bet we do not get an announcement on MSM every week with President Trump and all the IIIIIIIIIs and Mememememememes to go with it.
Not that I watched a single one of them in 8 years, just heard about them
This reminds me—one of the biggest time-wasters in the federal bureaucracy are the “meetings” where the political appointees give speeches to the peons of their agencies.
Each political appointee has their own meetings (which of course are time eaters accomplishing nothing).
Trump should consider having all such presentations be on you-tube available for viewing and not held as time-wasting “meetings”.
I just heard a “tech update” on the news that after April 2017, the YouTube app won’t work on devices manufactured prior to 2013. That will certainly cut into his audience.
This truly is game changing. Trump is speaking directly to the public and bypassing the media. I can hear them quaking in their boots right now. Fantastic.
This man is BRILLIANT!
Ronald Reagan reincarnated.
Funny how they still use the word ‘tape’.
YouTube is owned by Google.
Well, that will mean a whole bunch of people shifting to some other video hosting service, which will be explicitly friendly to conservatives.
Also in color unlike those fdr did on early TVs according to the professional fool, alternative history expert and plagiarizer joey b.
I think it’s great that President Elect is using YT and twitter. If it drives the marxist media crazy then I’m all for it.
The outfit I work for is almost government grade when it comes to endless meetings. I’m amazed that anything gets done at all.
I’m not important enough and rarely have to sit through one.
In the internet generation, tv news is obsolete.
He can just buy Youtube.
He could not have been any clearer to the media....besides how many reran that video last night on their news outlets....unfiltered.
Thanks!
Thanks!
