The Muslim peoples should be prime targets — for evangelism.
I think this is something that all too easily offended modern Christians miss.
There was a mosque built not too long ago in the Nashville area next to a major church.
Most of the church people thought “how dare they accost us like that? we don’t want their pressure on us with their jihad, their sharia, etc.!”
But the few that thought “Hey! People that we can now witness to! This is very convenient!” were a minority.
There are really two separate issues:
1. Evangelism. Go for it. It’s a great opportunity if its in front of you.
2. Jihad by demographics and Sharia law. If we don’t turn back the tide, pure demographics and radicalism will mean there are no evangelists left in 100 years.
One is the important religious problem. The other is an important political problem.
Christians trying to live with Islam generally end up on the wrong end of genocide or become converts because of the overwhelming societal and financial pressures to convert. True pattern for 1400 years. Satan has multiple ways to make Christians his. Muslim genocide of Christians and sharia law are two of his most successful inventions.
Those who were successful in saving Christianity from Muslim extinction were hard-ass warriors—Charles Martel, the Winged Hussars etc.
Christianity must be preserved for there to be evangelists. And sometimes it takes a war to preserve Christianity.
And I note also, that Revelation really doesn’t address Islam as a significant end times conversion opportunity. Jews yes. Muslims are background noise in Revelation—among the ones who see the miracles and the overwhelming evidence of Jesus reign on Earth and still refuse to believe.
That said, every Muslim who turns to the Lord will cause rejoicing in heaven and Earth and Evangelism to Islam should be and is a high priority of the Church.
