President-elect Trump isn't the only one thinking about splitting his time between two cities.
When President Obama leaves the White House this January, his family is expected to become bi-coastal, with homes in both DC and California.
Sources told the New York Post that the Obamas have purchased a home in Rancho Mirage, California.

“He followed the Clinton method”
Bingo. Just watch, Obama will be bashing the U.S. non-stop when he leaves office.
Cattle futures.

Will Trump’s IRS check the Obama taxes ?
The most recent salary increase, to $400,000/year from $200,000/year, took effect when George W. Bush became President. The President also receives a $50,000 non-taxable expense account. The compensation of the President is controlled by law, specifically 3 USC 102 ("Compensation of the President", Title 3, Section 102, of the US Code).
Pension
The Secretary of the Treasury pays a taxable pension to the president. Former presidents receive a pension equal to the pay that the head of an executive department (Executive Level I) would be paid, as of 2015 $203,700 per year. The pension begins immediately after a president's departure from office. A former president's spouse may also be paid a lifetime annual pension of $20,000 if they relinquish any other statutory pension.
Secret Service protection
Former presidents were entitled from 1965 to 1996 to lifetime Secret Service protection, for themselves, spouses, and children under 16. A 1994 statute, (Pub.L. 103329), limited post-presidential protection to ten years for presidents inaugurated after January 1, 1997. Under this statute, Bill Clinton would still be entitled to lifetime protection, and all subsequent presidents would have been entitled to ten years' protection. On January 10, 2013, President Barack Obama signed legislation reinstating lifetime Secret Service protection for himself, George W. Bush, and all subsequent presidents.
Richard Nixon relinquished his Secret Service protection in 1985, the only president to do so
Remember the ACA website? That only cost a billion to create. Connect the dots. Barry and the Wookie got paid!!!!
how did he get rich?....He left the White house dead broke, ya know.
I wonder if he’ll try to take the silverware and a sofa.
I think the difference is WJC was and is seen by many as a centrist and the Clinton foundation was seen as giving back to the people of the world. Once Obama is out he will let loose his hard core leftist, socialist mentality that he has had to keep bottled up. I’m not really sure how well that sells other than to eco-Nazi types and college leftists. He’ll make some money but nothing near what the Clintons were doing. And, unless they start pushing for Michelle to run in the future, there is no way they can capitalize on returning favors.
A true 1%er,, but will deny it.

So much money. Arrest these Free-America-hating grifters, waterboard them and find out about their corruption.
I have predicted he will be the first billionaire ex pres. He is going to be sitting on every silicon valley and tech board, he will shakedown businesses, and his new business interests in Cuba and Ian will pay off very well.
I guess when you have a few billion laying around from surplus taxpayer funds you can afford to buy a few mega million dollar mansions, eh?
An “Obama Foundation” has reportedly been set up.
And now we know why that deficit doubled...
It’s hard to tell if Obama will be successful, but he has connections with enough U.S. enemies to sell information on any number of fronts. Like the Clintons, the bastard cannot be trusted.
I can see a conversation like this....
"Hey Malik did you ever get that $50M your brother sent to Kenya"
"50M?!!!" Was I supposed to?
Yeah...
"All I ever got was a $50 and a card from Obama on my birthday from but not $50M?!"
"looks like he shorted you about $499,999,50 then...
"Nothing new...really to be expected..."
Relocating just in time to be a thorn in the side of Californians who want to rid the state of the liberals; because they have (as usual) ruined the state.
But, I know a Mayor who is toying with running for Gov. I definitely would support him.
Harry Truman's personal diary, 24 April 1954 |
"No young man should go into politics if he wants to get rich or if he expects an adequate reward for his services. An honest public servant can't become rich in politics. He can only attain greatness and satisfaction by service." |
