Too many possibilities so in the end, I think Oswald probably was a lone gunman assassin, he was a strange character and I think had it in him to do it, misguided he was.
Believe it or not, John Wayne did visit a Marine base in the Phillipines, Wayne is sitting down eating, yes, Oswald is in the doorway: http://photos1.blogger.com/x/blogger/5291/1101/1600/886509/post-624-1166562729.jpg
Unrelated but interesting.
Oswald almost certainly did the shooting, but the real question is, did he decide to do it on his own, or was he ordered to do it by someone?
There is a lot of evidence in Oswald’s life that point to him being some sort of intelligence asset, for somebody. His defection and return from Russia, the CIA debriefing after his return that the CIA tried to make disappear, and the CIA covering up his trip to Mexico City, are all very suspicious. Then there were his “pro-Castro” activities in New Orleans, run out of the same building as a CIA asset, and his unknown source of income for the years leading up to the assassination.
