I just went digging through by older FR posts.

Didn’t the British Government want to ban now President-elect Trump from visiting the United Kingdom?

I very briefly looked at the future political impacts of the British Governments banning Trump - it would effectively reduce the United kingdom to a third rate power.

The original post was:

In the spirit of The Won, Trump should present her with a special edition VHS collection of “The Apprentice”!

Ancestry here is Prussian/Welsh so I don’t have a dog in this fight, but I don’t think the Queen or King of Great Britain has much of a voice in making Commonwealth law.
I think they are there primarily to put a public face on the history, traditions, and best aspects of Great Britain and the Commonwealth.

No, it didn't. There was a silly internet petition to that effect which, because it reached the required 100,000 clicks, had to get an informal debate in Parliament. Nothing to do with the Government.

No, she didn’t, and couldn’t. She has no executive power.

If you can’t figure it out, maybe it’s worth revisiting the premiss.

Thanks for your responses - just goes to show that many here will demand certain pre-conditions that cannot be met and be prepared to forgo any positive possibilities until they get their impossible way.

Maybe the Queen recognizes a real man in Trump - someone who won't "fete" her with a box of CD movies....
