I read your comment and others on this thread and have, mostly, the same attitude.

But I really want to know....why did Romney go to that meeting? Why did Trump have to meet him in person? If it was just a “mending fences” meeting, why couldn’t they have had an intimate phone call instead of the photo op?

It does not seem, at least to me, that any sort of job offer was made.

I don’t like Romney. He called Trump a fake and a bigot. Romney’s the fake as I see it. He faked being a serious and caring presidential candidate last election. When he is nothing but a political elite posing as something he’s not.

I just wonder who set this all up today.

This clip shows Romney emerging. I have to agree with you he seems chastened and eager to be gone. Romney wanted no part of the reporter’s questions and did not bring up any possibility of working in Trump’s administration.

After Romney said a few words to the press, he turned to his right, where he had gotten out of a white car upon arrival. The car had been moved to his left where it looked like the front passenger door was locked before Romney signaled to the driver. No one opened the car door for Romney either time though a woman greeted him upon arrival.

I am so happy that Trump has so many venues where he can meet people. I hope he gets rid of all the press photographers' loud clicking cameras. Are they still needed in the age of digital cameras?
