MANY years ago when I was living in New York I rode the elevator to my 25th floor apartment with the actor who played the role of the lion on Broadway in The Wiz. We had never met before. He said, Hello, and asked me if I were an actor. A strange question I thought, and I replied, No, and then told him my job. He said he thought everyone in this building was an actor. He then asked, Who pays your rent? When I replied that I paid my rent, he said that his business manager paid his, and he did not know how much the rent was.
