How fast should they melt? With the Europeans, it was the second generation.
I think the U.S. should pay for the base wall and Mexico for any extra feet that are needed.
New arrivals are melting in - it’s not all or nothing as you state. don’t forget, most of us came here to become American - not to remake it in the image of the countries we left willingly and with pleasure.
Salad bowls, by their very definition, benefit those who depend on racial animus to remake America - for the worse.
Many immigrants like me want more meatloaf (constituent parts making a whole) - and less salad bowl (unmixed/uncooked ingredients with a Big Liberal dressing)
Its not needed in many areas. Drones would be more efficient.
Usually takes 2 generations. In some cases, could happen in 1 generation especially if the immigrants speak English and come from a higher socio-economic strata in their home countries.
Sounds familiar.
IIRC, this is the time he said he’d support if the amnesty mandated absolutely no voting for something like 10+ years? And they all just freaked.
Proof its all about expanding dem votes.
I'm not opposed to giving those who are pulling their freight and have clean records amnesty to the extent of permanent legal residency, but those who came here illegally should NEVER be able to vote. Since they came here in deliberate violation of our laws, they should never be allowed a voice in changing those laws.
But, but Lizzie warren gave a whiney speech saying people don’t like those ideas, while whining that Hillary got more votes than Trump.
Something tells me the Commie News Network will not report this Ipsos Poll.
Isn’t it interesting how the polling has shifted since Trump became President-elect?
Under your circumstances, yes I might agree to permanent legal residency. But...
Rush pointed this out: If they got citizenship w/o right to vote, the very next day libs would be suing in court, citing emanations and penumbras of COTUS and might win.
Same legal BS step for permanent legal residency “why not citizenship, it's not fair”
I don't trust what libs would attempt with any of this.
Rush also pointed out related history of mass deportations.

RUSH LIMBAUGH: Jeb and Kasich and all these other guys, they look at it as a civil rights issue, and the left looks at it as a civil rights — they almost look at it as a racial issue, and it's not.
[...]
For them, they think it's an act of compassion to welcome them in, and if we disagree with ignoring the law, then we are called racists. And it's not about that at all, it's about sustaining the U.S. economy, the job market the wage base, all these kinds of things.
[...]
But I thought one of the most telling lines, when they're discussing all this, and Jeb says, well you know, they're — you're talking about deporting people, you're going to deport people — 11 million, 12 million people. You realize they're doing hand stands and applauding over at the Clinton campaign. And Trump comes in, you ever heard of Ike? I like Ike? Dwight Eisenhower. Ike? I like Ike? We like Ike? Everybody likes him. You know what Ike did? Ike got rid of a million-and-a-half — I mean, he deported — what do you mean it can't be done?
[...]
Trump was entirely correct to point out the history — what Eisenhower did. And I don't think Trump went far enough, actually. In reality, Harry Truman, another Democrat president, deported illegal aliens — over 3.4 million, did you know that?
[...]
Harry Truman deported illegal aliens — 3.4 million of them. You add that to the 2.1 million Ike deported — or who left on their own at the time. Nearly 6 million illegal aliens were deported or left voluntarily under those two highly-beloved presidents. The country didn't fall apart, and we didn't become a bunch of racists overnight. We didn't lose our compassion, we didn't lose our big hearts.
I was talking to my two best friends at work tonight. One is a gal from NY, who is Puerto Rican. The other is 1st generation, parents from Mexico (probably, but not for sure, during Reagan’s amnesty) whose parents are Dems thru and thru. The first gal considers herself a Republican, the other is a self-described lib.
The topic of The Wall came up, due to ppl on the other end of the room discussing it. Both of these gals are wildly in favor of the wall; the faster the better, btw. They were so animated that they were talking over each other! Talking about how WE paid for Mexico’s southern wall with Guatemala. How Mexico says if a child is born to Mexican parents, that child is Mexican, no matter what. (true, btw) How it would create jobs and the problems it would solve on both sides of the border.
I wish you guys could have heard it. They sounded like Sheriff Joe!
No. Those numbers include Hispanics as white. I don’t consider brown people white any more than I consider white people black, do you? The NON-HISPANIC white population count is like 61%. I’ve seen a lot of conservatives touting that 2/3 number but it’s misleading for the purpose of most political argument these days.
I knew it. Halting Islamic immigration was what moved me to Donald and Cruz’ opposition and underhanded attacks on Donald for that was what turned me off to him.
An Hispanic from Spain is white, no? Some Hispanics are white is the only point I am making here.
As I said, I do not count mixed or mostly Indian as white, but not ALL Hispanics are brown, or at least no more brown than an Italian or Greek.
And then I showed a pie graph of Mexico where only 9% of the country is white, so you and I are arguing over what?
I agree regarding white Hispanics - they are Hispanic first...My 70% (voting) number was for non-Hispanic whites. It was 72% 4 years ago and it could actually hold at 70% 4 years from now, or increase a bit, if we clean up voting and if Trump starts the deportations.
And yes, we are on a roll!!! So far.
My Medicare supplement will be translated into any of 12 languages.
How could so many foreigners have affected Medicare in such a way?
I plan to make a audio/video of tuning-through my radio station selections. With perhaps 50 AM stations, two are in Englishand one of the two is "all-sports". :-(
Do I live in the USA?
There is no such thing from a legal perspective. If someone overstays their visa, that person can be classified as an "illegal immigrant", but not someone who entered illegally.
